Love your Naturopathic Doctor
Tina and I haven’t been shy about our love for Naturopathic medicine, and how our own Naturopathic Doctors (ND’s) have helped us. What we haven’t written about before is politics as it relates to our food and health. But, we think this is important enough to change that.
Did you know that a ND can’t write you a referral to see a specialist? Or send you to a medical laboratory? There are many processes that ND’s in BC aren’t allowed to do in relation to their patients health, including having access to diagnostic tests. BC Naturopathic Doctor’s need your help to make sure the BC Government acts on the promise they made almost 4 years ago:
In 2008 the current Liberal government made a pledge to ensure that publicly funded and privately owned medical laboratories in BC were accessible to licensed naturopathic doctors. Unfortunately, that pledge has not been acted on.
